Enjoy the amazing versatility of banjo as four master level players give us a dynamic night of Old-Time, Celtic and Bluegrass of every variety. Host Bob Altschuler performs and records with Thirteen Feet of Bluegrass and Three Quarter North. He's been heard on NPR, radio and TV commercials and is a favorite regional banjo instructor. David Kiphuth's specialty is Round Peak-inspired claw hammer and bluegrass. He founded the seminal band Apple Country, and has played with Chestnut Grove, and Stacy Phillips and Phil Rosenthal. Sara Grey, appearing with her son, guitarist Kieron Means, has a distinctive & lovely tremolo to her voice as she sings and and plays ballads of America, Scotland and Ireland. Since the 1970s she has been celebrated for her clawhammer style. Marc Horowitz, who was Bela Fleck's first teacher, has had a banjo in his hands since 1957. From Broadway pit orchestras to TV jingles to appearances with Judy Collins, Doc Watson and Steve Goodman, Marc has built an amazing career around banjo picking.
