Vashon Island Garden Tour
Experience six diverse gardens; Surround yourself with the soothing fragrance and color of 1000 lavender plants; take in sweeping water and mountain views from a compact and many textured Asian-inspired shade garden; experience a Maury Island garden compound of 15 planting areas, ranging from a sunny perennial bed and sparkling pond to a cool woodland walk; breathe in the sweet scents of an elegant 70-bush rose garden; step back in time and stroll the mixed shrub and flower borders, vegetable and berry gardens of an 1890's homestead; relax under tall firs in a cheerful Northwest shady rock garden, punctuated with eclectic and colorful accents.
Tour tickets include admission to daily seminars. Jonathan Morse, celebrated garden designer and horticulturalist, presents Creating Space in the Garden: Design Techniques with Hardscape and Flora at Blue Heron Art Center, 11 am to noon, Saturday and Sunday. Cheryl Prescott, Consulting Rosarian and Master Gardener, presents her rose-care seminar, For the Love of the Rose at the Farner Garden, 1 to 2 pm, Saturday and Sunday.
Visit the gardens, enjoy live music and art for sale. Don't miss the Garden Art Market. Group rates are available. We regret that all gardens may not be wheelchair accessible. Tickets are valid for both Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 5 pm. Please call for group discounts.
