Our Memorial Day weekend open stage is an annual tradition at Caffè Lena, each year bringing together poets, songwriters, storytellers, and speech-makers for a respectful and deep-hearted sharing of views about our soldiers, the culture of war, and conflicts past and present. All styles and points of view are welcome. Excessive profanity is strongly discouraged.
This year we have a special featured artist, Dan Berggren, will perform a 30-minute called Appleseeds, featuring the songs and ideas of Pete Seeger, known the world over as a folk musician, humanitarian, peace activist, and environmentalist.
No advance reservations will be accepted. Performer sign-up goes from 7 to 7:30. Performances will get underway at 7:30. Time limits will be determined by the number of participants. This event is co-sponsored annually by the Saratoga Peace Alliance and Adirondack Veterans for Peace and every year is unique and healing.
