Another Dawn For Creative Industries
Sir Peter Bazalgette, Sir John Hegarty and Jude Kelly have occupied the pinnacle of the creative sector for over two decades. They have seen governments come and go and now come again. The creative industries themselves have gone from being a disparate bunch of lovies and crafts people to an economic engine for the country worth nearly £72billion to the UK economy. We are all creative, but is our creative future to be found by bringing culture and commerce together from schools through to industry, or should we abandon the lifestyle approach and keep culture and the arts away from the creative industries? Creativity and the industries that rely on it are fast growing and now crucial to our economy and way of life, their importance is assured so what should the future for them look like? Come along and hear the views of three industry greats. With the combined knowledge, history and influence of our three speakers, government would be well advised to listen. This session will be chaired by John Kampfner, CEO Creative Industries Federation 7 June 1.45pm - 3pm
