Finding Voices
Artist Richard Wentworth, Mercury Prize rapper Speech DeBelle and theatre director Vicky Featherstone, all find ways to move, involve and inspire us. Their own inspiration comes from the extraordinary to the everyday, from our greatest writers and global events to a discarded cigarette packet. Where do they find the people, stories, objects and ideas that give them the spark that they craft into a piece of work for an audience? How did they find their own voice and settle into their own creative place? How do they recognise a theme, a moment or a single lonely object that is going to inspire them to create something wonderful? Where do they look for the voices that inspire them and how challenging is it to hold onto their own? This session will be chaired by Stella Ioannou 5 June 5.15pm - 6.30pm
