Storytelling
Kasper Holten, Director of Opera at the ROH in discussion with songwriter and musician Sharleen Spiteri and novelist Andrew O'Hagan, about their approach to telling stories. Spiteri's band, Texas, has surpassed global album sales of 35million and has been playing together since 1989. Award winning novelist Andrew O'Hagan has twice been nominated for the Man Booker Prize. He also writes for Esquire and the New York Times. Kasper Holten is a sought after and award winning opera director. What do all three share in their storytelling process? What makes a story or character exciting for them, what themes do they favour, and are they drawn back into the same familiar worlds or do they push hard to do something very different every time? This session will be chaired by journalist Craig McLean, journalist and editor, SohoCreate magazine 4 June 3.30pm - 4.45pm
