Now based in Greenwich, NY, ALAN EPSTEIN is popular Wernick Method teacher and bluegrass picker. As a band member he has played and sung around the U.S. since the '70s. Alan is the organizer of this incredible day of mandolin madness at Caffe Lena! Alan will be accompanied by Ed Lowman on bass and fiddle.
A member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of La Scala in Milan and founder of the International Italian Academy for the Mandolin, CARLO AONZO has won top prizes for his classical playing on both sides of the Atlantic. He is a scholar of the instrument and his books have been published by Hal Leonard and Mel Bay.
In demand as a sideman and studio musician throughout New England, DAVID SURETTE specializes in Celtic and Contra dance styles. His impeccable, exuberant approach has made him a popular instructor at music camps across the USA. His book on Celtic guitar arrangements is published by Mel Bay. Susie Burke joins in on guitar.
Vermont-based WILL PATTON is "one of a handful of jazz mandolin global titans." (Mandolin Cafe) He has played jazz and rock from Paris to Rio. His fluid style evokes smoky Parisian bistros and shady plazas in the heart of Bahia with a mix of Gypsy, bebop & South American Choro styles. Dono Shabner accompanies on guitar.
