Matt Smith in All My Children
Hilarious to poignant, adult and compelling, Matt Smith, trainer, screen and stage actor, auctioneer, playwright and all-round talented guy, brings his most recent monologue, All My Children, to Vashon's Blue Heron stage.

His first solo show in six years, Smith ponders the possibilities of what happens when a man's biological clock stops ticking. In his inimitably adept comic style, with wit and dexterous writing, Smith takes his offbeat alter-ego character Max Poth, down the what-may-have-been path to nearly every possible outcome.

The 85 minute monologue is delivered almost conversationally. While tracking down the grown children of his ex-girlfriends, Smith relies entirely on acting out incidents such as salads in the face, jump starting a car and more.

"The laughter almost never paused-daringly funny,' said one critic about a performance of All My Children at Hugo House.

"I haven't laughed so hard in public since my mother's last wedding," exclaimed The Stranger.

Smith, a Bainbridge Island resident, co founded Seattle Improv and Stark/Raving Theatre with Ed Sampson in the 1980s. His acclaimed monologues include My Last Year with the Nuns, Helium, My Boat to Bainbridge and Beyond Kindness. Screen credits include Outsourced, Spiderman, Sleepless in Seattle Northern Exposure and more. He has auctioneered for the VAA Art Auction (and many other non profit organizations) and has worked for an impressive list of corporations including REI and Microsoft as a communications facilitator. He also teaches theatre workshops for regional theatre companies.
