A Sense of Place
What's Hull ever done for us? Well it brought us actor, writer, comedian and star of The League of Gentlemen and Psychoville, Reece Shearsmith, and writer Richard Bean who wrote everything from West End Hit One Man Two Guvnors, Pitcairn and Great Britain at the National Theatre, to early hits Toast and Smack Family Robinson. Have these two creative comedians left their Hull past far behind, or does it lurk in the shadows of all their ideas? How much does it matter where our stories are set? How much of our past do we drag with us into the new worlds we are creating and at what point does a sense of place arrive in the creative process? This session will be chaired by journalist Craig McLean, journalist and editor, SohoCreate magazine 6 June 12pm - 1.15pm
