Murphy Family Songbook
Come to 1900 Park in Lafayette Square on May 16th for 'A Murphy Family Songbook' where members of the St. Louis Murphy Family will share their musical and artistic talents to benefit The Angel Band Project.
A concert of original music and stories presented by siblings Jane Murphy Godfrey, Ellen Murphy Ranney, Tom Murphy, Bill Murphy, Rich Murphy and Pattie Murphy Voss will explore the theme of family while showcasing "Legacy", a series of artistic works created by their sisters, Annie Murphy Schuchart and Margaret Murphy Schneider.
The art exhibit includes works inspired by stories of family heritage as well as a little nod to their musical siblings. Also performing in concert with the Murphy siblings are Elliott Ranney, Bryan Ranney and Stephen Ranney.
"We honor our ancestors by living out the gifts passed on to us," says Jane Murphy Godfrey. "In sharing this with the public we hope to entertain, emotionally move, and provoke the audience to consider their own evolving family history."
All profits from ticket sales will be donated to the Angel Band Project, supporting them in their mission of using the power of music to heal, raise awareness and create positive social change for the survivors of sexual violence.
