***** Want a cabin instead of a tent? No problem! We will have Cabins available for the first time at the Summer Retreat, for an extra charge. Please contact us for more information on this.
Includes: (6 min + ) Lindy, Balboa, and Shag Workshops, 3 dances. evening snacks and drinks, Saturday BBQ, Breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and more!
Located at beautiful Sunshine Valley BC Canada, one will experience the majestic mountain ranges and all that nature has to offer. This will be a chance to get away from it all, relax, socialize and best of all, dance all weekend long. There will be workshops for all levels, a pool party, late night dancing, camping, BBQ, dance competitions, hot tubs, the awesome pancake breakfast, canoeing, and more!
Essential items to bring are a tent, sleeping bag, cooking utensils, air mattress, swimsuit, plate, cutlery, a glass to drink from, and your dance shoes.
You will need to bring a cooler and a stove if your planing to make your food.
You will need to Supply your own meals for Friday and both lunches on Saturday and Sunday. We are supplying a BBQ on Saturday and Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.
There is no stove or fridge provided for you. There are modern showers and bathrooms. There is a small grocery store and liquor store.
You can show up to the resort as early as you like Friday if your camping.
***** Good new for those not wanting to sleep in a tent. There will be cabins available for an extra fee. They can hold 6 or 5 people only for the summer. All cabins have a fully functioning kitchen with silver wear, dishes and cooking supplies.
***Bring your own food and Towels.
Pool and hot tub available all day and night unless being cleaned. Dancing all night and afterhours. Lindy Hop, east coast, blues, ect.

This year Peter Flahiff and Lauren Stanley will be our feature instructor! Other details include a Jack & Jill contest, prizes to be won, three days of workshops, three nights of dancing (including Sunday night at Suburban Swing). All ages! No partner needed!

Peter Flahiff Is a long time friend that has taught over the years for Suburban Swing. He is coming back and has brought his partner Lauren Stanley with him. Peter Flahiff is a swing and tap dancer. He performs, instructs, DJs and speaks as a jazz music and dance historian. Peter began swing dancing in 1993 and teaching just one year later. He's taught from Los Angeles and Seattle to London, Helsinki and Munich -- including Camp Hollywood in California and the amazing Herrang Dance Camp in Sweden. He's studied with many of the past masters of these dances. Today, Peter counts some of the world's top dancers and instructors as his own former students. Not a competitor himself, Peter's worldwide reputation is as a highly sought-after social dancer and instructor. He helped create several thriving venues over the years (Rusty's Rhythm Club in LA, ATOMIC Ballroom in Orange County, and Eastside Stomp in Seattle.) Peter's classes are legendary for their clarity, humor and high spirits. He always continues to further his own education, taking instruction from some of the greatest dancers in the world. Yes, he's pretty much always in a suit.
