Horace-Scope
Horace-Scope
If you find yourself out on the town here in SF, local nightclub patrons and jazz aficionados alike may tell you they've enjoyed the exhilarating sounds of a band believed to be High Society's alter ego, HORACE-SCOPE. It ain't a lie; HORACE-SCOPE is San Francisco's premier hard-bop band primarily inspired by the innovative musical works of the great Horace Silver. Reminiscent of those hard swingin' 1960's Blue Note albums, HORACE-SCOPE is instrumental in continuing to lead the legacy of jazz with their every performance.
You may have enjoyed HS at Yoshi's SF, Club Deluxe (local landmark located at San Francisco's world Famous Haight-Ashbury intersection), the Make Out Room or one of many countless other venues in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. In the fall of 2008 HS joined Jaz Sawyer's (Abbey Lincoln, Cyrus Chestnut, Wynton Marsalis) Pursuance Records label. In fact, Pursuance Records and High Society Productions are working hard at this very moment to bring you recordings of such a high caliber you'll think you got shot.
