April Sustainability Series: Colorado's Zero Energy Communities Today
Zero-Energy Community (ZEC) transformations have their place within a hierarchy of energy-revolution programs, with global sustainability and climate change action at the highest level. They can be implemented locally and independently, in productive, horizontal harmony with other ZEC initiatives across the country. Come learn more about ZEC transformations across Colorado, and how these compelling 21st century design principles for the entire community conserve energy, improve efficiency, encourage recycling, and deploy local, renewable energy generation.
A ZEC where energy consumption and renewable energy generation are in net balance is no longer a gauzy 21st-century goal. ZEC status is attainable today and the pioneering scientists, real estate developers, and engineers behind it present the pragmatic steps they have taken to make Colorado's net-zero future a reality - without waiting for large-scale political shifts or subsidies from Washington. We are creating ZECs today, and Colorado has created the road map.
