Traditional Medicine.  Premier of video:  Vi Hilbert (1918-2008) Indian Medicine from a Strong Mind.  "Taqw-seblu", a Skagit tribal elder, is credited with saving Lushootseed-- the language spoken by Chief Seattle.   This video is the 1st in the series by Paul Eubanks "I was a witness.  My 25 year Journey in NW Washington Native America."  Paul is an adopted grandson of Taqw-seblu.

Paul Eubanks, www.10wolves.com, has also produced a series of legacy CD's that permanently preserve the ancestral stories and wisdom of Taqw-seblu and other tribal elders.  It was their wish that the culture be preserved by sharing it with the goal of making the material available to all who seek it, now and in the future.  Paul is now honoring the legacy of these elders in a series of DVD's..  All are available at the Duwamish Longhouse.

The Duwamish Native Food Program is sponsored by the DUWAMISH RIVER OPPORTUNITY FUND (DROF): Seattle Department of Neighborhoods & 4Culture.  Bi-monthly program, 2nd & 4th Sundays, March-July. Photo by Steve Shay.
