CARAVAN
Dorit Avganim's new play is set in the temporary, cardboard world of a generation built on credit, a busted up storybook landscape where past, present and future collide. A musical band of gypsies serves as catalyst and witness to a strange homecoming - a family reunited briefly in a theater of memory and myth.
A Group Theory collaboration with songwriter/performer Chris Gerard, director Teddy Sanders, and an exciting assemblage of designers, this workshop will begin to put the world of CARAVAN on its feet.

ABOUT IRT
Tucked away in the old Archive Building on Christopher St., IRT is a grassroots theater laboratory providing space, support and community to independent artists. Through its 3B DEVELOPMENT SERIES, IRT offers radically affordable space residencies enabling artists to experiment, take risks and test drive new work before adventurous audiences and fellow creators. The 3B Series opens up a rare middle ground in New York's theater ecology between readings and full productions, creating a supportive environment for full-bodied exploration and iterative development.
Since 2007, IRT has become home for a growing community of emerging and established artists including: Young Jean Lee, Reggie Watts, Immediate Medium, Mike Daisey, Tommy Smith, May Adrales, The Nonsense Company, Group Theory, Thomas Bradshaw, Erica Fae, Alex Harvey, Karen Kohlhaas, Diana Amsterdam, Lisa Fay/Jeff Glassman Duo, Neal Wilkinson, Human Animals, Katt Lissard/memory lab, and The Paper Industry.
