"The End of the World" may sound ominous, but if your days were numbered wouldn't you live by your core truths and declare your love to the crazy world around you? That's what singer & songwriter Jean Rohe does with her amazing ensemble of NYC musicians (five for this show). Jean's rare songs are the among those small things that just might save the world. She is a graceful and visionary multi-lingual singer & composer, mixing jazz, singer-songwriter, and world folk traditions on narrative songs that range from fantastical riffs on old folktales to biographical sojourns. "A sure-footed young singer-songwriter," in the words of The New York Times, she appears regularly on New York Public Radio, and has toured her projects throughout the U.S. and as far as Havana's Teatro Nacional. Her eclectic and genre-bending ensemble, Jean Rohe & The End of the World Show, showcases a unique musical voice that sounds like a love song for a world imperiled.
To make this extra special for the Mom in your life, Caffe Lena is partnering with Park Side Eatery to offer a special dinner that will be served at 5 PM. The concert will start at 6 PM. Dinner is optional so come at 5 if you're eating, and a few minutes before 6 if you're not.
