Africa Rising is a celebration of the music, art and culture of Africa!
Africa is the motherland. Besides being the cradle of civilization,
the continent is also the foundation of culture. On Nove 6th at
Coda jazz supperclub, Maisha Productions celebrates Africa and its cultural heritage with Africa Rising!, a showcase of African music and Africa-inspired art.
Africa Rising! features Another Legend. This time we take you to Lagos, Nigeria: Danjuma Adama has played and recorded with King Sunny A...de, Fela Kuti Anikulapo, Babatunde Olatunji, Hugh Masakela , ZuluSpear",Monomomo And Highlife Messengers. In 1983 he helped to cast the band O.J. Ekemode and the Nigerian all Stars with whom he recorded and toured north America. In 1986 he co-founded two popular Bay Area Afro-Beat bands, Kotoja Ntu Shamala.http://www.myspace.com/danjumaadamu
