New Sounds Northwest - Kenmore
What makes living in the Northwest special? The scenery, the people... and the music. Join Seattle Pro Musica for NEW SOUNDS NORTHWEST, a series of outreach performances featuring new music by Northwest composers. You'll experience exciting music by Grammy nominee Morten Lauridsen, Vijay Singh, Brian Galante and more including the regional premiere of Eric William Barnum's new work for women's chorus, Heaven Full of Stars.
NEW SOUNDS NORTHWEST is presented as part of Seattle Pro Musica's 2014-15 Education and Outreach series, New Sounds Northwest, a series of touring performances showcasing the choral music of contemporary composers from the Pacific Northwest. Concerts will be performed in multiple communities in Washington State, along with open rehearsals and pre-performance conversations. Featured composers include John Muehleisen, Giselle Wyers, Donald Skirvin, Vijay Singh, Morten Lauridsen, Brian Galante, and Reg Unterseher. New Sounds Northwest performances are generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Aaron Copland Fund for New Music.
