Ways Not To Drown: Creating Source Material
Ways Not To Drown: Creating Source Material a mini-intensive for artists of all disciplines
We're scheduling this for Spring 2015 -- please be in touch if you're interested!
How do you locate source material? How do you transform it into your art form? How do you translate it for an audience? We will address these questions together through a mini six hour intensive.
Creating new material, you will walk away with repeatable, specific tasks you can use in your own creative process. Deborah Slater will draw on her 30 years of experience generating and shaping material to guide the group using tools of writing, moving and vocalization to dive in quickly and deeply. Bring a text, bring a prop... bring something that interests you.
Open to working artists of all disciplines. Adults, seniors, disabled, and all dance levels welcome. Contact us for accessibility information.
Notes: Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a notebook. We'll have a half hour break for lunch - you can either bring your own or buy one nearby.
