Fourth Annual One-Act PlayFest
Stone Soup Theatre Proudly Presents The 4th Annual Playwright's Festival
The perfect fit for Seattle's only one-act company, 2010's festival brings 17 short, original scripts to the DownStage, including "Perspectives" by former Seattle Weekly critic John Longenbaugh and the chuckle-inducing "Clothing Optional" by James Lyle, raising questions about gender double-standards where nudity is concerned. From epic absurdity to the comically criminal and just about everything in between, audiences will experience themes ranging from destruction and plagiarism to birthday suits and second chances.
Set in the DownStage in mid-May, audiences will enjoy a selection of 10 scripts per show selected from over 300 submissions, both local and national, featuring the playwriting talents of Dustin Engstrom, Barbara M. Harkness, Andrew R. Heinze, Vincent Kovar, John Longenbaugh, James Lyle, Joe W. Marciniak, James E. Marlow, Scotto Moore, Tom Moran, Lavinia Roberts, Rich Rubin, Peter Snoad and Carolynne Wilcox. Please be aware that due to adult content and both male and female nudity, parental discretion is advised.
The production runs Thursdays Sundays, May 13-23. Evening showtimes are 8:00 pm, while Sunday matinees are at 2:00 pm. General admission prices are $15; $13 for those under 30. Tickets are available for purchase at www.brownpapertickets.com, 800-838-3006 or Stone Soup Box Office (206) 633-1883; www.stonesouptheatre.org.
