RECORD OF THE ANTHROPOCENE MOVEMENT
WORLD PREMIERE
A new work bringing together movement, photography, and original music in a meditation on the influence of human behavior on the natural environment.
Inspired by the Five Elements of Chinese philosophy, this bold new work connects dance artists to the natural elements that make up Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Movement plays out a history, a present, and some possible futures of the region in the era of the Anthropocene a time in which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment.
Collaborating with renowned photographer Omar Willey, this production incorporates images from a six-year hyper-photography project. Together, movement and imagery create an environment of internal states in the external world.
With original music by composer Paul Rucker.

PARKING INFO:
Out of respect for our neighbors, patrons are
asked to park only in the suggested lots below or use nearby street
parking. A map of available parking is located on Taproot's website at
www.taproottheatre.org/patron-services/. PLEASE NOTE: the parking lot
behind the theatre is NOT available for patron parking.
DROP OFF ZONE: There is now a 3 minute passenger load zone on the
corner of N 85th St and Palatine Ave N (the street just to the west of
the theatre).
- Bank of America (Complimentary Parking): Located on the corner of N
85th St and Phinney Ave N one block east of Greenwood Ave N. This
parking is available to Thalia's Patrons Tuesday-Friday from
6pm-midnight and Saturday from 1pm-midnight.
- Department of Licensing/All That Dance (Complimentary Parking): Also
accessed from Phinney Ave N. The parking lot will be on the left after
turning north on Phinney Ave N. Please park in the two west aisles of
the lot (the ones closest to the theatre). This parking is available
to Taproot patrons Tuesday-Friday from 6pm-midnight and Saturday from
noon-midnight.
- Chase Bank (Paid Parking): Located behind Chase Bank on the corner
of Greenwood Ave N and N 85th St. This is the closest lot to Taproot.
- Please do not park in the lot in front of Bartell Drugs and Top Ten
Toys, the parking lot behind the theatre or in the Greenwood Fred
Meyer lot. Patrons parking in these lots can be ticketed or towed.
