WIFE
INSTALL:WeHo + Phyllis Navidad in conjunction with We Open Art Houses + MKL Gallery + FruitFlyLife proudly present 'The Grey Ones' a performance by WIFE.
Premiering at the Long Beach TEDxSoCal event in 2011, and airing on The Creators Project, WIFE's performance 'The Grey Ones,' juxtaposes live projection mapping on ephemeral & fluid figures with statuesque & saintly gestures to create a narrative on the evolution of time. Performed to an original score by electronic music artist Amon Tobin, 'The Grey Ones' combines surrealist animations with original choreography, costumes, & visuals to set a scene evoking myth, organic matter, decay, and transcendence. A magician of light & sound, WIFE employs old & new technologies to illuminate enduring mystical phenomena & ancient archetypes that resonate to our collective unconscious.
Pop-Up Reception at 7PM featuring VCR Vintage/Contemporary/Reconstructed with music from DJs Heidi + Jeniluv as 'Ralph Machio'
