THE MEETING: Malcolm X meets Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The one act play takes place a few days before the assassination of Malcolm X at New York's Audubon Ballroom, high up in an intimate and modestly furnished hotel suite in the heart of Harlem. In THE MEETING both men's philosophies resonate and clash as they eloquently set forth their arguments on issues of freedom, dignity and respect not only for African Americans but for all people who have suffered at the hands of injustice. It imagines what could have happened had they actually met, joined hands and pushed in the same direction.
