Event
Paul Ehrlich and Jeremy Lent
Wednesday, June 7, 2017 7:30pm - Seating Area opens at 6:30pm Kepler's Books 1010 El Camino Real Menlo Park, CA 94025
Meet one of Stanford's most renowned and iconoclastic thinkers as he introduces a new, groundbreaking voice who is making waves in the scientific community.
Paul Ehrlich has always been decades ahead of his time. When Population Bomb hit the shelves in 1968, it seemed absurd. Yet, today, many of the problems he addressed have become realities.
Now, he introduces Jeremy Lent, an author whose work is no less controversial and groundbreaking as Ehrlich's was years ago. It's called Liology, a reframing of the language of science and a re-writing of the human narrative. Returning to the metaphors that are at the root of mankind, Lent is offering a new and comprehensive view of how we became what we are today.
With acclaim from major figures like Fritjof Capra, Thom Hartmann, and more, Lent is offering exciting possibilities for how far we have come and what the future could be!
Jeremy R. Lent is a writer and the founder and president of the nonprofit Liology Institute, dedicated to fostering a worldview that could enable humanity to thrive sustainably on the earth.
Paul R. Ehrlich is Bing Professor of Population Studies and professor of biology at Stanford University and a fellow of the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics. The author of Human Natures, The Population Bomb, and many other books, he is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and a recipient of numerous international honors.
