As I was writing My Name Is Lucy Barton,  it came to me that all the characters Lucy and her mother talked about had their own stories  of course!  and so the unfolding of their lives became tremendously important to me. --Elizabeth Strout

Pulitzer Prize winner and #1 New York Times bestselling author Elizabeth Strout presents: "Anything is Possible." A latticework of fiction, drawing on the small-town characters evoked in her critically-acclaimed novel My Name is Lucy Barton, this new collection shows Strout at her most inventive yet. Don't miss one of the great storytellers of our time as she discusses her work and the lives of her all-too-real characters.

Elizabeth Strout is the Pulitzer Prizewinning author of "Olive Kitteridge," the #1 New York Times bestseller "My Name Is Lucy Barton," and "The Burgess Boys," She has been a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize in England. Her short stories have been published in a number of magazines, including The New Yorker and O: The Oprah Magazine. Elizabeth Strout lives in New York City.

Strout will be joined in conversation by Scott Hutchins.
Hutchins is a former Truman Capote fellow in the Wallace Stegner Program at Stanford University. His work has appeared in StoryQuarterly, Catamaran, Five Chapters, The Owls, The Rumpus, The New York Times, San Francisco Magazine and Esquire, and has been set to improvisational jazz.
