Politics & Prose Presents W. KAMAU BELL
Already a presence on television, radio, and podcasts, W. Kamau Bell makes his publishing debut with THE AWKWARD THOUGHTS OF W. KAMAU BELL, a book as humorous, smart, and timely as any episode of Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell or CNN's United Shades of America. Describing himself as a "sociopolitical comedian," Bell, co-host of Politically Re-Active and Denzel Washington Is the Greatest Actor of All Time Period, talks about issues including law enforcement, race relations, the connections between racism and sexism, and right wing politics. He also recounts his own experiences, from growing up with race-conscious parents of sharply differing views to his own interracial marriage, and surveys his career, recounting his long and ongoing struggle to find his comedic voice and his place in the wider comedy scene.

Bell will be in conversation with Rabia Chaudry, who is an  attorney and recent Jennings Randolph Senior Fellow at U.S. Institute of Peace, where she researched the intersection of religion and violent extremism. She is the author of the NY Times bestselling book ADNAN'S STORY, which explores the wrongful conviction of Adnan Syed, the subject of the most popular podcast in history, "Serial." She is also the co-host and co-producer of the hit podcast "Undisclosed," with over 160 million downloads.
