Politics & Prose and Sixth & I present ANNIE E. CLARK AND ANDREA L. PINO
Clark and Pino met at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and together founded End Rape On Campus, an organization which provides support to survivors of sexual assault, fights for policy reform, and raises awareness of the 1 in 5 women and 5 percent of men sexually assaulted at college. The authors & activists joined other students who filed Title IX and Clery complaints against UNC- an action documented in the film, The Hunting Ground- and this book continues their mission, spotlighting the pervasive cover-up of assaults on college campuses across the country. In WE BELIEVE YOU survivors speak, telling their own stories: thirty voices, people from various backgrounds, of different races and genders, recount their experiences with violence, trauma, and healing.
Pino and Clark will be in conversation with New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, author of OFF THE SIDELINES.
