Joey DeFrancesco Trio
Beginning with Miles Davis at age 22, Joey DeFrancesco has played with just about everyone... Ray Charles, Arturo Sandoval, James Moody, Elvin Jones and Joe Lovano to name a few.
Joey is a three time Grammy Nominee & Nine time winner of Down Beat Magazine's Critic's poll, as well as winning Down Beat Reader's Poll every year since 2005!
In 2014 he was inducted into the inaugural Hammond Organ Hall of Fame. DeFrancesco deserves to be called "Master of the Hammond B3 organ". His legacy is already secured next to Fats Waller, Wild Bill Davis and Jimmy Smith.
"ranging from sublime to positively pyrotechnic the best B3 player on the planet" Jazz Times
"Mr. DeFrancesco is a deeply authoritative musician, a master of the rhythmic pocket, and the custom of stomping bass lines beneath chords and riffs." New York Times
"No organist today plays with the skill, harmonic depth, and authority of this phenomenon from Philly." All about Jazz
This time around, Joey will compliment his jazz organ performance with exciting bursts of trumpet tones reminicent of former employer, Miles Davis.
