Africa's Resources in African Hands!
Participate in an educational and cultural event to support the dynamic work of the African Village Survival Initiative (AVSI) -- a program of the African-led Uhuru Movement that is establishing sustainable programs for self-determination for the black community. Programs include rainwater harvesting, community farming, solar energy, and 2 African community-led economic development institutions: recording studio and commercial kitchen. This event features Orunde Tacuma, President of the Brooklyn branch of the Uhuru Movement, and Penny Hess, Chairwoman of the African People's Solidarity Committee, along with music by T & Willetz and Leeia, and poetry by Robert Gibbons. Refreshments will be available with donations to AVSI.
