Triskelion Arts presents Amy Chavasse and Guests
Amy Chavasse and Guests
Saturday and Sunday June 6-7, 2015 at 8pm
Woody Guthrie's lament about warped patriotism, (This Land is Your Land) the erased landscape of the dust bowl, the lure and anxiety of seduction, two sisters as fake commentators creating their own reality as they gyrate and groove on a path through scenes from the Greek movie Dogtooth, a Polish conspiracy blogger with the nom de guerre, Agnescherry, writing an unhinged response to a solo performed at the Smithsonian Institute entitled, CIA vs world EMPATHY poolall this and more is the reason that Amy Chavasse, Artistic Director of ChavasseDance&Performance made the works "Hunger for the Longing (a biased history of seduction)", "deux dogtooth", and "Conspiracy Going- Amy needs a lot of empathy". This rabbit hole turns out to be full of shiny costumes, singing, truly seductive encounters, polished shoes clambering on a tabletop, falling, of course, falling, rescue packages coming in on satellites, and gorgeous dance and music. Collaborators include Aidan Feldman, Jessica Jolly Cicanek, Sarah Konner, Donnell Oakley and Peter Schmitz.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
