New York Metro Vocal Arts Ensemble is pleased to present Mozart's comic opera, Le nozze di Figaro. Performed in Italian at the High School for the Humanities in Chelsea.

The Characters Figaro - (baritone) Barber, valet to Count Almaviva, engaged to Susanna.
The Countess - (soprano) The Countess Almaviva (first name Rosina, from The Barber of Seville), married to the Count.
Count Almaviva - (baritone) Employer of Figaro and Susanna; he is now pursuing Figaro's fiance Susanna.
Susanna - (soprano) The Countess' witty and beautiful personal maid, engaged to Figaro.
Cherubino - (mezzo-soprano) A flirtatious teenage page.
Doctor Bartolo - (bass) Once the Countess' guardian, he harbors a grudge against Figaro for helping the Count "steal" her away in The Barber of Seville.
Marcellina - (soprano) Has made a bizarre contract with Figaro; he must marry her if he cannot repay his loan.
Don Basilio - (tenor) A gossipy music teacher.
Don Curzio - (tenor) A lawyer, evidently hired to add legal authority to Marcellina's contract with Figaro.
Antonio - (bass) The Count's gardener.
Barbarina - (soprano) Antonio's daughter and Susanna's cousin, a cute teenage girl. ____________________________________
