Darkhorse: a Northwest Choreographers' Showcase
Three independent, contemporary dance companies of Seattle have joined forces to present Darkhorse, a choreographic showcase revealing the fresh emergence of a new kind of contemporary dance scene in Seattle that emphasizes the beautiful line and technical virtuosity of ballet in combination with the visceral approach and intense delivery of modern dance. Featuring new works by Clarissa Castro of Alloy Dance Project, Natascha Greenwalt Murphy of Coriolis Dance Collective, and Tesee George of Dance Contemporary, these three companies have taken matters into their own hands to show audiences their distinct voices as companies unified under the exciting and dynamically driven vision of contemporary dance. Guest artists of RandAll Dance will perform the work of Rachel Randall at Saturday's matinee.
Please join us after the performance for a short Q&A with the choreographers!
Darkhorse is produced by Coriolis Dance Collective, an associated program of Shunpike. Shunpike is a 501(c)(3) non-profit art service organization whose mission is to strengthen the Seattle arts community by partnering with small and mid-size arts groups to develop the business tools they need to succeed.
