ARCADE Journal's Duwamish River Boat Tour
ARCADE Journal, Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition (DRCC) and guests from Seattle's design community guide a two hour tour of the Duwamish River Superfund Site. See the juxtaposition of the working waterfront, salmon migration route, and diverse neighborhoods among one of the country's most toxic sites. Learn about the natural and built environment of the Duwamish Valley, environmental health and (in)justice, and future plans for Seattle's very own Superfund cleanup site.
The guided tour aboard the Admiral Pete power boat will happen rain or shine.
The boat tour is part of ARCADE Magazine's Volume 28.2 education series, "A New Alchemy." Using the basic elements of our world -- earth, water, air or fire -- as starting points, we ask, "How can the design community re-imagine the very basic aspects of our world to create something unexpected, new and valuable?" ARCADE provides independent dialogue about design and the built environment.
You may bring a lunch; ARCADE will provide beverages and snacks.
This tour is appropriate for people of all ages and is ADA accessible.
