1946 . Seattle, Washington. A Japanese American draft resister is released from prison and returns home to find nothing is as it was. He struggles to piece together his war torn world. His family and friends have changed. His childhood gone. A girl, an alcoholic father, a crazy mother, a dying friend. Within this journey, he finds the true meaning of gambatte -- to endure -- with love, strength and truth.
