Victor Kugler worked for Anne Frank's father, Otto Frank, at the Franks' spice import company. From 1942 to 1944, at great risk to his and his family's lives, Mr. Kugler managed the company while the Frank family hid in the company's annex. Mr. Kugler helped provide those in hiding with food and other necessities. After the Gestapo discovered the secret annex, Victor Kugler was arrested and sent to a series of labor camps.
In Victor Kugler: The Man Who Hid Anne Frank author Rick Kardonne shares this poignant and little-known story of the brave man who attempted to save the Frank family.
A book signing will follow the program.
