The Kite's Nest Alimentary Feast

Join us for the Kite's Nest Alimentary Feast, a benefit event at Basilica Hudson featuring an intimate farm-to-table meal prepared by expert chef and Co-Director, Nicole Lobue, a creative silent auction and live music.

Kite's Nest is a learning resource center dedicated to curiosity, inquiry and social justice. We are committed to creating an extraordinary environment for children and teens to learn, play, and grow in Hudson by offering creative, project-based workshops, running a commercially-certified learning kitchen and an urban garden project. We provide young people with experiences that spark their interests and passions, and the support to pursue and develop these interests within their community. We believe that in helping children to develop a passion for learning in a supportive environment, we can help to build a generation of young adults in Hudson who have the skills, abilities, and confidence to build meaningful lives.

Our multidisciplinary, project-based workshops serve a wide range of children and families in and around Hudson, and have explored these such as urban planning, food justice, garbology, traditional wooden boat-building, the art of making potions, media-making, creative writing, cartography, agroecology, culinary arts, and more. Whether we're sailing a handmade raft on the Hudson River or interviewing people on the street, we are generating experiences together that spark children's innate curiosity and enable their love of learning to thrive.

Proceeds from the event will enable Kite's Nest to grow by increasing the amount of free and low-cost programming we offer, focusing on our relationships with local partner organizations, and ensuring that our center serves the children in Hudson who most need inspiring and hands-on engagement with learning.
