Garden designer and food forager Nance Klehm will explore the role of edible wild plants in sustainable urban agriculture using the Huntington Ranch Project as an outdoor classroom.
As participants wander the naturalized grounds of The Ranch, they will learn to identify the spontaneous vegetation(aka 'weeds') and hear their historical and cultural uses as food and medicine. The workshop will end with a simple shared meal of edible forged on the walk. Rain or Shine.
Limit: 15 participants. Preregistration is strongly recommended due to limited space. It is The Ranch's policy to keep classes an intimate size to make your 'hands-on' learning experience more enjoyable.
This class is part of the Huntington Ranch's "Ecosystem-Based Gardening Workshop Series" and is intended for the Advanced Gardener.
Make sure you include a current email address when registering. A reminder email will be sent out to participants.
