Washington Community Innovation Summit
The Field Innovation Team and the Community Resiliency Project present the "Washington Community Innovation Summit." At this exciting event, Washington communities and emergency managers will come together to learn from some of the world's finest minds using innovative practices to solve modern problems of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. Presenters will demonstrate how communities and emergency managers can work together, and how having a diverse set of voices leads to the best solutions. We will showcase self-organized groups that have empowered others by using innovative problem-solving. Get hands on with a 3D print of the Oso mudslide, the "High Priority Fun" activities binder for refugee and disaster populations, and a Raspberry Pi based environmental monitoring system that offers real-time data to a public website.
Listen to Bill O Connor, the Innovation Strategist for Autodesk, as he explains the 1,000 greatest innovations in human history and what sets them apart from the pack.
Learn how to predict and alter the future of catastrophes with Intel, Inc.'s futurist, Brian David Johnson.
