Nosferatu - Live Music - Rosendale Food Pantry Benefit
Spend an exciting evening watching a timeless thriller with a captivating, original score.
The Rosendale Food Pantry will be hosting a benefit concert on the night of November 20th, featuring the haunting music of Broomhead/Snyder. The artists will perform a live, electronic improvised soundtrack for the classic silent horror film Nosferatu.
The fundraiser will take place at the Rosendale Recreation Center on Rt. 32 in Rosendale, NY 12472 at 8 pm.
Tickets prices for adults are only $10 and children are free. As always, the Rosendale Food Pantry greatly appreciates any non-perishable food donations as well.
Whether you have already seen F.W. Murnau's classic vampire film or are a first time viewer, this event promises to be a totally new experience for all who attend.
The film, originally titled Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, is widely regarded as the best screen adaptation of the vampire legend. The film is loosely based on Bram Stoker's frightening novel, Dracula, however, there are many differences between the two versions of the story. In Nosferatu, the main character, Count Orlok, is not an appealing, well spoken gentleman as the vampire in Dracula, rather he looks more like a vicious rat, with his extra long fingernails and sharp incisors. In contrast to other vampire legends, Count Orlok does not create other vampires with his bite, but kills them with it. The film also originated the idea that vampires cannot be exposed to sunlight or they will turn to dust, a legend that is still included in most modern adaptations of the story.

synthesized music of Broomhead/Snyder, who are sure to amaze us with their inventive, extemporaneous music, and you have a great night out.
Not since the heyday of silent films, where live musicians played piano scores in the grand theaters of the early 20th century, have movie goers been able to have the unique experience of live music synchronized with film. It will be an event to remember and all for a great cause! And remember, scary movies are more fun to watch with a big group of people so bring along a friend or two.
