Lillie's Q and Pipeworks Brewing Company Crawfish Boil
Charlie McKenna, Owner and Chef of popular Bucktown-based restaurants Lillie's Q and LQ Chicken Shack, and Pipeworks Brewing Company teamed up to create a signature beer called, The Gussied Cochon a Southern Style Strong Ale. The Gussied Cochon is a sweet tea inspired beer that uses caramel malt, which creates a malty base that will combine with the light sweetness and flavor of the honey. English ale yeast adds fruity esters and gives the beer a medium body. The hops and the bergamot tea will add a balanced herbal presence that will give the beer its final profile. Also, enjoy the rare appearance of five additional draft beers from Pipeworks Brewing Company, which will include Ninja vs. Unicorn, Bicentennial, Falcon Batch 500, Cintra Ninja, and Saison Du Solieile.
To kick off the new brew, Lillie's Q is hosting a southern-inspired Crawfish Boil. Enjoy Crawfish from Louisiana and Chef's beloved Fried Chicken with some of his classic southern sides including, Potato Salad, Stone Ground Grits, Collard Greens, and Corn Salad.
Tickets for the event are $45 and include food and one 16-ounce beer.
Additionally, that evening Lillie's Q will launch a batch of the Limited Edition Bourbon Barrel Aged Smoky, Hot Smoky, and Carolina Gold sauces for $15 a bottle to those in attendance of the Crawfish Boil. Available to the public on Wednesday, September 17th until the sauces run out.
