CASHORE MARIONETTES
Cashore Marionettes & Arts Education Night
"Simple but brilliant . . . highly recommended even for adults who don't happen to have kids." The Calgary Herald
Unmatched in artistry, grace, and refinement of movement, the acclaimed Cashore Marionettes redefine the art of puppetry. A performance by the Cashore Marionettes is a celebration of life. The program consists of a collection of engaging pieces encompassing a broad range of themes, each delivered with a simplicity that expresses the essence of the moment, providing a powerful, entertaining, surprising, theatrically satisfying, one-of-a-kind evening for children and adults alike.
Characters of depth, integrity, and humanity are portrayed in a full evening unlike anything else in theater today. The performance is a series of scenes taken from everyday life and set to beautiful music by composers such as Beethoven, Vivaldi, Strauss, and Copland. Through a combination of virtuoso manipulation, beautiful music, theatrical illusion, and artistic insight, the original vignettes provide an entertaining and sensitive vision of what it is to be human.
The performance explores a range of emotions with characters and actions that are amazingly convincing. The marionettes are engineering marvels and the quality of movement is extraordinary.
The Cashore Marionettes take the audience on a journey that celebrates the richness of life.To further honor the vibrancy of life's unpredictable journey, Methow Arts is offering free tickets to students and families who lost their homes in the wildfires of the past summer. We believe that art heals the spirit and we invite those who have lost so much to join us for an evening of optimism and hope. Additionally, as always Methow Arts provides free tickets to clients of The Cove, Room One, and the Senior Center at those locations.
The evening opens with a performance by local students and celebrates the power and impact of art in our communities.
