UPFFC's Farm and Food Fest!
The Upper PeeDee Farm and Food Council is sponsoring the UPFFC Farm and Food Fest! on Saturday, November 8, 2014, 8:45am-3pm, at the renowned Lucky Clays Farm located near Norwood, NC in southern Stanly County.
UPFFC serves Anson, Montgomery, and Stanly counties and anticipates that this event will draw people interested in local farms, local food and local economies from its representative counties.

9:15am -12:30pm Workshops*
12:30-1:30 Local food fest
1:30- 3:00 Plenary session, speakers and networking
*Choice of two of these workshops, NOTE: Once you have purchased your event pass online, under "PASS MANAGEMENT" you will have the option to select one of the three workshops listed below for the 9:15-10:45am session and select a second workshop for the 11:00am-12:30pm session. Each session workshop is limited to 50 registrants.
A. "Aquaponics/Hydroponics" Led by Bradley Todd, Greenhouse Manager and staff, learn how they are producing tilapia, prawns, lettuces, herbs and edible flowers for the Charlotte market.
B. "Alternative Energy for Farm and Home" Joel Olsen, o2 Energies; Sean Hackett, Entropy Solar Integrators; and Debra Nesbitt from USDA Renewable Energy for America will share the newest options and benefits of solar and wind.
C. "Marketing for the Small Farm: Connecting Producers with Consumers,"
Smithson Mills, Asheville businessman; Rebecca Dunning, NCSU's "NC Growing Together;" and Debbie Hamrick, NC Farm Bureau, will discuss the latest on how connecting producers and consumers of healthy local food can build our farm and food system
