TJCC Typhoon Morakot Comedy Charity Show presenting Sheng Wang

On August 7-9th, the worst Typhoon Taiwan has ever experienced in over half a century hit the southern part of the island killing more than 400, displacing 14,000 people, and causing countless injuries as well as long-term damage to their infrastructure, economy and society.

Since we are the Houston chapter of a global organization, TJCC felt that the best way to assist in typhoon efforts was to set-up an event that would not only raise funds for the Tzu-Chi Typhoon Relief Fund, but also raise awareness throughout the Houston community about the typhoon that affected Taiwan so significantly.

Houston-grown Sheng Wang offered to donate his time and talent to perform at our event, and of course, we accepted! Sheng Wang is a Taiwanese Texan who developed and honed his comedy in the thriving stand-up community of the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to touring with the Comedians of Comedy and American Eagle's Campus Challenge, he has also appeared on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham.
