Announcing the 2nd Annual VCS Summer Choral Workshop
August 10th from 7:00pm - 9:30pm
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 Doyle Drive, Vallejo
Cost: $10
Dr. Buddy James will our guest conductor for the second annual VCS Summer Choral Workshop on August 10th at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 Doyle Drive in Vallejo. The program, running from 7:00-9:30pm, will be focused on the Faure Requiem. You will have a chance to rehearse and learn about this magnificent masterpiece of the French repertoire.
Following the break (yes, refreshments will be served), the workshop will conclude with a reading of the entire work from start to finish. VCS Collaborative Pianist Karen Balabanian will recreate the entire orchestral score from the keyboard with her usual virtuosic mastery.
Dr. James directs the Choral program at CSUEB. He is warm and much loved by those who work with him. This will be a wonderful evening of lovely music! Please let your friends know about this great event for our community.
There will be a nominal charge of just $10 per singer to help defray expenses. VCS Librarian Wendy Yun will be able to lend you a vocal score from our music library for the evening.
