Written and performed by Kristin Hammargren, Discovering Austen is a one-woman theatrical performance that brings the world of Jane Austen to life through a contemporary lens.
Discovering Austen follows the journey of an actor as she prepares to play the famous author amid a maelstrom of movie adaptations, rabid fans, skewed history, and dense academics. The audience is swept into her search for the key to Austen's essence in the words she left behind, exploring her books, letters, and early writing. This 75-minute show is a wonderful experience for Austen experts and novices alike. Join Kristin for a talkback after each performance.
