Entanglement: Love on Film

Five new chamber operas will make their world premiere at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art on August 22, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in Entanglement: Love on Film as part of the 2014 Black House New Operas Project. The chamber operas are written on the theme of love stories in cinema and will be performed by live singers in front of projected film scenes. The films featured in the chamber operas include Chocolat, Lost in Translation, Cleopatra, Sherman's March and L'Etoile De Mer. The 2014 project will feature composers Eun Young Lee (Chicago, Ill.), Jorge Sosa Ortega (New York, NY), William David Cooper (Davis, Calif.), George Lam (New York, NY) and Hunter Long (Kansas City, Mo.).
Tickets will be also be available for purchase at the door (cash or credit).
