DeColores Queer Orange County 5th Annual Dragshow: Jotalicious
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As most of you may already be aware our dearest member Zoraida "Ale" Reyes has recently passed. Zoraida was one of our founding members and was an instrumental part of our community organization. She was also one the first performers in our annual drag show. Some of us will never forget her performances, her original dance moves and incredible impersonations. Despite the recent tragic event we feel that instead of cancelling our 5th annual drag show which helps fund most of our work, Zoraida would want us to honor her legacy by celebrating life.
Our annual drag show is one of the biggest events that DeColores Queer Orange County puts together. This drag show allows our group to raise enough funds to finance our annual Community LGBTQ Conference, and make it free of cost. This year we decided in order to continue honoring Zoraida's life by bring awareness to the issues that affect Transgender Latinas and other LGBTQ individuals of color face, a portion of the proceeds we raise this year will go towards a fund that will be named in her honor.
We hope you join us in this celebration. Some of her very close friends will perform a number in her honor.
