Mahogany Ensemble Theatre production of Dreamgirls
Mahogany Ensemble ends the fourth season of plays with its youth theatre production of Dreamgirls, written by Ted Eyen and music by Henry Krieger. This legendary Broadway musical is the rags-to-riches story following the lives of Effie White, Deena Jones, and Lorrell Robinson--the "Dreamettes" a hopeful singing trio from Chicago who experience the ups and downs of show business on the path to making their dreams come true. This summer's production will feature youth performers from the Camp ASPIRE summer arts program presented in partnership with Bossier Arts Council and sponsored by Citizens National Bank.
This production is produced by arrangement with, and the music dialogue material furnished by TAMS-WITMARK MUSIC LIBRARY, INC., 560 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10022
