LIVING COLOUR
During the 1980s, rock had become completely segregated and predictable; the opposite of the late '60s/early '70s, when such musically and ethnically varied artists as Jimi Hendrix, Sly & the Family Stone, and Santana ruled the Earth. But bands such as New York's Living Colour helped break down the doors by the end of the '80s, leading to a much more open-minded musical landscape that would eventually pave the way for future bands (Rage Against the Machine, Sevendust, etc.). Living Colour became a phenonmenon in the music world with crossing racial lines and undoing stereotypes, with dazzling performances and critically heralded releases. By the mid-90's, having gone their seperate ways for individual musical projects, their legendary cult status only grew. After an impromtu reunion of Vernon Reid with his former band-members incarnation as Headflake for a save CBGB's show in 2000, rumors of a reunion tour were confirmed and 2001 saw Living Colour's first tour in six years. In November, 2008, Living Colour releasied their second DVD The Paris Concert DVD, recorded at the New Morning in Paris, France - July 19th 2007. Currently they've completed work on their fifth studio album : The Chair In The Doorway, to be release don Megaforce Records, September, 20
