NewWorks/NewWORLD: A Latina/o Playfest
HartBeat Ensemble is launching NewWorks/NewWORLD, a play reading festival to celebrate the diversity of our Hartford community, and call to attention the works of unknown voices of color and playwrights from marginalized backgrounds. The first NewWorks/NewWorld PlayFest will honor the works of local and national Latino playwrights.
From Wednesday June 25 through Friday June 27 HartBeat Ensemble will open its doors at 360 Farmington Avenue in Hartford, CT for lunch time and after work hours (11:30pm-2:00pm and 4:00pm-6:30pm). Visitors will be able to take in the art of local Hispanic artists as curated by Nina Salazar of Studio N111, enjoy lunch or a snack on our outdoor patio, and purchase tickets and gather information about the festival events. The week will conclude with a day of readings on June 28 starting at 2:00pm, concluding with a closing party at 9:00pm.
